(No Ratings Yet)Solid Gold - Wolf Pup
July 26, 2007 1:08 pm- First Impression: Well Dad has been feeding me Sold Gold - Wolf Pup for about 5 months now. I must say that it’s the best dry dog food I’ve ever had. I get two cups in the morning and two cups at night. Dad puts a drizzle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil on top of it and man I just start salivating right there. Of course I have to wait patiently while dad finishes, but once he says it’s ok to have breakfast/dinner I’m on it faster than if I was chasing a squirrel that just ran by. Even after the bowl is empty I still can lick up some EVOO.
- Ingredients: Bison, Salmon Meal, Brown Rice, Cracked Pearled Barley, Rice Bran, Canola Oil, Flaxseed Oil, Garlic, Amaranth, Blueberries, Yucca Schidegera Extract, Taurine, Carotene, Choline Chloride, Vitamin E Supplement, Iron Proteinate, (a chelated source of iron), Zinc Proteinate (a chelated source of zinc), Copper Proteinate (a chelated source of copper), Manganese Proteinate (a chelated source of manganese), Potassium Iodide, Thiamine Mononitrate, Ascorbic Acid, Vitamin A Supplement, Biotin, Calcium Pantothenate, Sodium Selenite, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (vitamin B6), Vitamin B12 Supplement, Riboflavin, Vitamin D Supplement, Folic Acid.
- To find a store in your area.
- Conclusion: Wonderful! Bag is vacuum sealed for freshness; it should be hard as a brick. I sure wish I could become a Solid Gold mascot or spokesperson. If your interested Sold Gold, contact me!

(No Ratings Yet)Harnesses By Carol - Weight Pull Harness
March 23, 2007 8:36 am- First Impression: Well when Dad told me that I was going to start “carting” to give me yet another outlet for my boundless energy I didn’t quite know what to expect. He ordered me a fancy harness online from Harnesses by Carol, after doing much research and comparing. Unfortunately, it took over 6 weeks to arrive - by then I had forgotten all about it! Even though it took forever to arrive, it was made very well. I got a size 34, with the extra foam padding around the neck. I go every week to practice with my trainer. I’m still learning the proper pulling technique so I’m not hauling that much yet. I am trying to learn to keep my head down and muscle through the pull v.s. a lunge or jump at the start. Dad found a book online called “Weight Pull Training” by Mark Landers, it’s full of great information that I recommend every interested puppy start with.
- Conclusion: Quality harness! Took forever… Expensive, $110 for mine, but it’s better to have quality gear. If you’re interested in carting/pulling, give this harness a shot! 3.5 out of 4 paws because of slow service.

(No Ratings Yet)Easy Walk Harness
8:10 am- First Impression: When Dad first adopted me I was a hellion on a leash. I was sure that I had to pull him along. We went through many different harnesses before we found something that would work. This is one of the things that didn’t work worth a darn. The design is simple. If I pull straight forward the front cinches down, pulling my shoulders together, making it impossible for me to keep pulling. Great in a theoretical world where dogs always pull straight forward… I personally would like to pull off to the left or right, which made the harness useless, it couldn’t cinch down then. One night I decided to chew the harness apart while Mom and Dad were sleeping. Dad contacted Premier and they offered to replace the harness for $7. Dad said it wasn’t worth it and threw the remains in the trash.
- Conclusion: Don’t waste your money on this product. Premier Pet makes another product that works great, the Gentle Leader! Or you can always try out the prong collar. 1.5 out of 4 paws because its construction is good, but ineffective on a true large breed dog.

(No Ratings Yet)Overby Farm- HipBones
March 19, 2007 7:31 am- First Impression: Well it looks like I have another admirer over at Overby Farm! I just received a care package full of HipBones. Now I had never heard of a cherry before. So it was Dad’s turn to take one for the team. He had to let me know if they actually tasted like cherries. He said definitely not. So even though they don’t taste like cherries they still have the same benefits, like those wonderful cranberry treats that I reviewed awhile ago. Apparently these people use tart cherry concentrate for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties! Ingenious, berries are truly amazing. The creators also include a heart felt story of their two puppies Lucy and Abbey for whom they created these great treats.
- Conclusion: All natural ingredients, resealable bag, and a natural source of antioxidants and anti-inflammatories. Anytime you can work some antioxidants into your diet you should.

(No Ratings Yet)Wellness - Wellbars (Yogurt, Apple, Banana)
March 16, 2007 1:50 pm- First Impression: Well the kind folks over at Wellness Pet Food heard about my website and sent me some treats to try! They ended up sending me a big box of their WellBars that have Yogurt, Apples, and Bananas in them. Totally vegetarian, oven baked with lots of vitamins! I’m sure you have read one of my other reviews about Old Mother Hubbard, they make outstanding healthy treats. Turns out that WellNess is owned by Old Mother Hubbard. Who knew? As usual Dad ran me though a barrage of tests to see how much I really wanted the treat. Let’s just say I had to work very hard. Those silly “sit ups” that little dogs do, roll over, sit, stay, down, etc, just to have him put the treats in my Everlasting Treat Ball! I made short work of it and devoured my new delicious and healthy treats. The only thing I’m a little disappointed about is I found out that they have WellBites that are soft treats. They even have one that’s Lamb and Salmon flavored… Those are two of my favorite things in the world. Now I have to talk Dad into buying them for me…
- Conclusion: Outstanding healthy dog treats! A must buy for a healthy pup.

The Agility Regulations is also on AKC’s site.
The Tracking Regulations is also on AKC’s site.
Along with the Herding Regulations, AKC included the Herding Test and Trial Procedural Manual.

(No Ratings Yet)Nylabone Bacon Souper
10:52 am- First Impression: This is just like one of my old Nylabones, except this one tastes like bacon! Dad left my old nasty one out and gave me this new one. Of course I left the old nasty one alone, and completly concentrated my chewing powers on the new one. The old one was quickly thrown away where all my old toys go to die…
- Conclusion: Nylabone has a strong rep around the dog park, not much more needs to be said. They last a LONG time. I personally like rubber toys more, but its nice to sharpen my teeth on a good bone before I enjoy dinner.

(No Ratings Yet)Favorites
10:34 amHere is a list of my all time favorites!
I’ll always be updating this list as I find more toys/products that completely entertain/amaze/envelope me.
- Planet Dog - Orbee-Tuff - Diamond Plate Ball: Paws down, this has become my favorite ball. It still smells good, it bounces VERY well, its rubber so it doesn’t hurt the walls or even the glass door. I always bring this toy to dad while he’s sitting on the couch. He’s getting pretty good at throwing it for me.
- Tuffie’s - Tuffzilla (Tuff Scale): I loved having a toy that was my size. I would growl at it, throw it around the room, tackle it, chew on it… Oh how I miss my Tuffzilla. He just wasn’t strong enough. Dad kept stitching him up, and I kept ripping him apart. Finally dad gave up and threw it away. Fun toy, just didn’t last long enough.
- Pooch Pleasers Bone Sheepskin Dog Toy with Squeaker: Now I know what your thinking… A big strong masculine dog like me shouldn’t be playing with a soft cuddly sheepskin bone… Well I don’t care! I loved it. In the end I ripped the stuffing out everywhere, but it lasted for months. Better than most of those stuffed toys. I need another soft toy to cuddle with…
- Roma Rubber Grooming Mitt: Simply put there is no better way to groom a Rottweiler, or any short haired animal.
- Natural Balance Dog Food Rolls Lamb Formula: Dad has consistently used these as training treats because I’ll do ANYTHING for them. No joke.
- JW Pet Invincible Chains Dog Toy Triple Link: I LOVE playing tug-a-war with Dad! Of course he’s stronger, but he has thumbs! I’d love to see him play with his teeth like I have to! Bring it on! But seriously these things are strong, if they can handle 125 lbs of me yankin’ on em they’ll be good for you.
- Jolly Ball Horse Toy: Well these balls only last about 1-2 days and the handle gets shredded. Dad just keeps cutting the handle back with some big shears until the handles are gone. Even without a handle its still a fun toy. Dad throws it up in the air and try to catch it. I can easily collapse the ball enough to bite it, so who need a handle…
- Triple Crown Everlasting Treat Ball: Amazing! Dad doesn’t use the end caps very often. He just stuffs some of my normal treats in the middle. It’s a great jaw workout, I basically crush the toy to break the treats up inside so they will fall out. The ball is still in 100% perfect condition and I use it every day!
- Little Giant - Mini Feeder w/ custom wall mount: This has been so helpful! I don’t have to bend over to eat and drink anymore!

(No Ratings Yet)Nylabone Galileo Souper
January 29, 2007 3:37 pm- First Impression: Man it was time for a new Nylabone. Mom and Dad bought me my first two almost 5 months ago! They were looking a little nasty, but I still loved them. The kind folks over at Nylabone sent me a gift box and I got to try out this new monster of a chew bone. Now it is shaped a little weird, but I like it none the less. Every time Mom and Dad eat lunch or dinner I lay down and chew on a Nylabone. It keeps me entertained while they eat that amazing smelling human food… I just close my eyes and pretend.
- Conclusion: Great chew bone! Lasts a very long time. Not sure what could be improved.
- Buy it from PetSmart now!

(2 votes, average: 5 out of 5)- First Impression: I’m a very tall dog, my back is 28 inches off the ground. I don’t really like having to bend way over to eat and drink my food, so Dad went to PetSmart and bought 2 of the Little Giant - Mini Feeders for horses. Then he constructed a wall mount out of 2×4s so the feeders would be up off the floor. He looked at some of the store bought stands, but none were tall enough, or worth the money. Each of the feeders were less than $10, and a 2×4 is less than $2. If you would like more detailed construction plans let me know and I’ll ask Dad.
- Conclusion: Amazing! Every tall puppy should have one!

(No Ratings Yet)Planet Dog - Pink Ribbon Ringo Toy
11:37 am- First Impression: This ball is very similar to the diamond plate ball. It smells the same, tastes the same, it has the same size holes, the ball is the same diameter, etc. However it has this 1/2 inch raised rib that goes around the center of the ball. This causes the ball to act erratic when Dad or I throw it. However, I don’t think it’s quite as bouncy as the Diamond Plate ball. If I had to choose I would pick my super bouncy orange diamond plate ball.
- Conclusion: A great rubbery ball, for a great cause! Support Breast Cancer Research! 3.5 out of 4 because it’s a strong toy that supports a great cause.

(No Ratings Yet)Nylabone Big Chews - Truck Tire
11:18 am- First Impression: Well I chewed on it for a few minutes when Dad first gave it to me. I was just being nice though. This tire is HARD, just like my other Nylabones. However it’s just not a shape that appealing to me. After five minutes of play, I haven’t touched the toy in days.
- Conclusion: If for some reason you like to chew on an extremely hard circle, this toy is perfect for you. Personally, it just wasn’t for me. 2 out of 4 paws because yes it is indestructible, but I’ll never use it

(2 votes, average: 4 out of 5)Planet Dog - Orbee-Tuff - Diamond Plate Ball
January 26, 2007 2:13 pm- First Impression: This toy seems very sturdy! Plus dad says I make a “sucky face” noise when I’m chewing on it (slurp, slurp, slurp). I’m partial to tennis balls, but this ball is winning right now. It’s WAY bouncier, and it smells better too. It has all the advantages of the soccer ball, it floats, it bounces, it smells like peppermint, but it seems to be constructed even better! The holes are 1/2″ on one end and 3/8″ on the other end.
- Conclusion: Overall I’m very pleased with this ball. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to destroy it. It’s super bouncy. It smells great. What more does a giant puppy need? I would definitely recommend this ball!

(No Ratings Yet)Natural Balance dry kibble
1:17 pm- First Impression: The kind folks over at Natural Balance sent me 4 samples of their dry food: Ultra Premium, Potato & Duck Formula, Venison & Brown Rice Formula, and the Sweet Potato & Fish Formula. Normally dad does not like to feed me other types of dry kibble because as a rule it can be shock for puppy’s systems (upset stomachs). But after reading more about the food he decided to see if I liked it. We started off with the (blue) Ultra Premium which basically has all kinds of wonderful ingredients like chicken, duck, and lamb meal. I’m thinking about switching my diet over to this one, no more Pro Plan Selects! I then tried all of the others, which were quite wonderful. Honestly I have no complaints about the food. Dad didn’t even have to put yogurt on my breakfast! Usually I’m quite picky in the morning.
- Conclusion: Natural Balance knows what they are doing. I’m talking Dad into switching me over to 100% Natural Balance Ultra Premium (blue package).
