First Impression: My Durapet Bowl holds my water. I’ve never tipped the bowl over, so it has a good grip. However, I still spill water everywhere because I’m so messy.
Conclusion: Overall its a great stainless steel bowl. The non-skid base does not work very well on a vinyl floor. Also the base gets scummy from water getting trapped in the rubber non-skid ring, up against the bowl.
Overall I am impressed with the Durapet bowl, and have been using them in the kennel for over a year. However, I am experiencing some disintegration of the rubber rings. Does anyone know if the rubber ring breakdown is harmful to the dogs? Would like to contact the manufacturer to be sure. I may have to scrape the rubber off to be sure it doesnt harm the dogs.
I no longer have this bowl, as I switched to my raised feeding system. From what I remember the rubber should come off easily, it was just held on by tension. (no glue)
I would highly recommend my “little giant” feeding system, if you can come up with a way to attach it inside the kennel.
Of course depending on your puppies, chewing of the plastic bowls could be a problem.
